Programme Dates

Block 1: 4 to 18 July 2020 (2 weeks)
Block 2: 19 July to 1 August 2020 (2 weeks)

*Submit your application by 1 April 2020 to receive an early discount, reducing the 4-week programme fee to £3,090. The discounted early rate for students attending for two weeks (either block one or two) is £1,745.


Submission of Application

(a) Admission requirements

(b) The University of Leeds might waive the English language requirement for students from Hong Kong as long as students have studied for at least two years entirely in English at university.

(c) Please send a soft copy of valid English test result (e.g. IELTS), your HKDSE result, and the course that you intend to study during the Summer School to studyabroad@hksyu.edu (mark the subject line in the email as your HKSYU student number, your name and the name of summer programme)

(d) International Unit will screen through all the document(s) and information received before proceeding to the submission of formal application to the University of Leeds. In addition, the International Unit will assist student to prepare offical academic transcript.


Subsidy

(a) Students receiving means-tested student financial assistance from Student Finance Office (SFO) or whose families are receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) are eligible to apply for the Scheme for Subsidy on Exchange for Post-secondary Students (SSE) of the Education Bureau. With the United Kingdom as destination and two or four weeks in duration, the maximum level of subsidy for the Subsidy Scheme on this summer school programme is HK$14,000. The amount for an eligible student is calculated by the approved level of student finance (in terms of percentage of full grant) to the maximum level of subsidy for the Subsidy Scheme. For checking your eligibility, please contact the International Unit.

(b) Each student will only be eligible for assistance under the SSE ONCE throughout their study in programme(s) at the same level of study in Hong Kong, irrespective of the amount of subsidy received.
