2023 PKNU International Summer School ━ Pukyong National University
Introduction
Pukyong National University (PKNU) invites you to learn about Korea and its unique culture through lectures and exciting cultural activities.
The on-site three-week summer school is one of the shortlisted summer programmes eligible for HKSYU’s Credit-bearing Summer Abroad Scheme (GEC206).

Mandatory | Global Culture II (Cultural Activities) Weekday afternoon (2-4 pm)
Korean Traditional Costume and Etiquette, Taekwondo (Korean Traditional Martial Arts), K-pop Dance, Korean Food Class, Fieldtrip to Gyeongju, Marine Sports in Busan, etc. |
Elective (Choose from one of the three courses. Weekday morning, 9-11:50 am) | Understanding of International Relations

Programme Fee
US$1,100 (Partner University) for 15-day academic programme, transportation from Busan Station to Pukyong National University, on-campus accommodation in a twin room, 3 meals/day including weekend, and cultural activities and field trip expenses.

Submission of Application
Step 1: Please fill in the application form and email it to HKSYU’s International Unit by 16 May 2023
Step 2: International Unit will liaise with PKNU and send you the payment information by 17 May 2023
Step 3: Students should pay the fee to PKNU by 19 May 2023

Education Bureau’s Scheme for Subsidy
Means-tested Subsidy
Those receiving means-tested student financial assistance from the Student Finance Office (SFO) or whose families are receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) are eligible to apply for the Scheme for Subsidy on Exchange for
The amount for an eligible student is calculated by the approved level of student finance (in terms of percentage of full grant) to the maximum level of subsidy for the Subsidy Scheme. Each student will be eligible for assistance under the Means-tested SSEBR twice throughout their study in programme(s) at the same level of study in Hong Kong, irrespective of the amount of subsidy received. |
Non-means-tested Subsidy
All full-time and local undergraduate students are eligible to apply for the Non-means-tested SSEBR. With the Korea as the destination and 19 days in duration, the maximum level of subsidy for the Subsidy Scheme on this summer school programme is HK$2,700. However, each student will only be eligible to receive once throughout their study in programme(s) at the same level of study in Hong Kong. |
