Submission of Application

(a) Please send a copy of your application form and supporting document, which inlcudes copy of your passport (the page with personal information) and English test result (e.g. IELTS), to studyabroad@hksyu.edu (mark the subject line in the email as your HKSYU student number and your name).

(b) Applicants might be invited to an interview.


Subsidy

(a) All local students are eligible to apply for the Non-means-tested Subsidy on Exchange to “Belt and Road” Regions for Post-Secondary Students (Non-means-tested SSEBR) [for the week in Austria] of the Education Bureau.

(b) With Austria as destination and one week in duration, the maximum level of subsidy for the Non-means-tested SSEBR on this summer school programme is HK$3,450. Each student will only be eligible for assistance under the Non-means-tested SSEBR ONCE throughout their study in programme(s) at the same level of study in Hong Kong, irrespective of the amount of subsidy received.

(c) Students receiving means-tested student financial assistance from Student Finance Office (SFO) or whose families are receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) are eligible to apply for the Scheme for Subsidy on Exchange for Post-secondary Students (SSE) and Scheme for Means-tested Subsidy on Exchange to “Belt and Road” Regions for Post-secondary Students (Means-tested SSEBR) [for the week in Austria] of the Education Bureau.

(d) With Belgium as destination and two weeks in duration, the maximum level of subsidy for the SSE on this summer school programme is HK$14,000; whereas with Austria as destination and one week in duration, the maximum level of subsidy for the Means-tested SSEBR on this summer school programme is HK$11,500. The amount for an eligible student is calculated by the approved level of student finance (in terms of percentage of full grant) to the maximum level of subsidy for the Subsidy Scheme. (e) Each student will only be eligible for assistance under the SSE ONCE throughout their study in programme(s) at the same level of study in Hong Kong, irrespective of the amount of subsidy received.

(f) Each student will only be eligible for assistance under the Means-tested SSEBR TWICE AT MOST, subject to teh maximum amount of subsidy to be received by her/ him under the Means-tested SSEBR discounted throughout their study in programme(s) at the same level of study in Hong Kong.
